Sophiana is 8 and has chosen to be Baptized

Eureka
2nd Ward

Bishop
Kelly Timmons

1st Counselor Tony Davis

2nd Counselor
Tevita Vainuku

Sophiana is best friends with Bishop Timmons

He has a candy jar in his office ;-)

Sophiana chose James, her big brother, to baptize her & she waited until today from her birthday on August 11th so her big sister Chelsea could be here from BYU Utah & so her other big sister Elle would still be here before returning to BYU Idaho! One and a half days all together before school starts! And before James leaves to serve his mission. Wherever that may be... :-)

Charly and I are so pleased with the accomplishments & ongoing progress of our five wonderful children. They all make us smile.

Soooo cute!! Rebekah loves her new asymetrical haircut!

Summer Haircuts for Locks of Love

One day I asked Sophi if she wanted her hair trimmed for the summer---She said "Cut it off! I want to donate it to Locks of Love" Sophiana and then a few weeks later Rebekah also decided to donate her hair to be made into wigs for children undergoing chemo. I put their hair in a ponytail and snipped it off in the kitchen. Sophiana's was 13 inches and Rebekah's was a surprising 11 inches. We put the tresses in bags and walked them to Henderson Center to the American Cancer Society office where the ladies were very complimentary to the new hairdos and when we took in Sophi's the girls were even given a small See's candy bar :-0 yummy. Their long hair was beautiful but the short is so swingy and cute and easy to manage. I had actually threatened Rebekah that we either needed to brush it daily or cut it. She said cut it off.

Escargot? -or- 'S' Car...Go!!!!

Well, the girls have been entertaining themselves very nicely this summer ;-) I just couldn't resist this photo moment. I think the racing subjects are still safely tucked away in a brown paper grocery bag with plenty of lush greens stuffed in and the top rolled down. On a nice sunny day does that qualify for baking in a bag? Gourmet.

Making Scones for LDS Pioneer Broadcast

There's nothing better on earth than fresh Pioneer scones with honey-butter!! (or berry jam or cinnamon sugar) So, I asked my dear friend Donna Packer Swiss to show me how to make them! We called it a Relief Society activity and invited the whole of Eureka 2nd and 1st Wards. Fresh hot scones followed by the Mormon Tabernacle choir with The Osmond's live from The Conference Center at temple Square in SLC, UT (via satellite in the chapel). Donna's recipe is from the 310th Quorum of Seventies in Brigham City, UT. Yeast dough + mashed potatoes + baking powder and soda. Here are the photos from the kitchen. Donna, Mary and Isaac Medley, Sophiana and Rebekah VB in Pioneer outfits. Mmmmmmmm.....and Wow! What a wonderful concert. Good Times and Great Memories.

Niles VB The Most Agreeable Cat on the Planet!!!

Well, this is Niles our BFK (big Friendly kitty). He's the mellow one that Rebekah pretty much uses as a scarf or a baton (twirling him around in her arms) or wraps him up in blankies or makes him wear hot pink satin jammies (all day because no one saved him) how humiliating
>:-I
Poor Kitty.
She really does love him.
He's our bendable buddy. (once James even trimmed his whiskers) what a forgiving beast.
